She tried brushing off her emotions with a joke, feeling as though she could cry, "He's pretty crazy about meatball subs." "I don't know about that," Elizabeth buried her face in Ross' chest, her voice quiet and muffled. "Joey's never loved anything as much as he loves you." He could feel her nervousness, reaching out to grip Beth's shoulder before dragging her in for a much-needed hug, "It'll be okay," Ross spoke softly. "Hey, that's a great start," Ross encouraged, watching the woman closely as she shrugged. ![]() "Yeah," Beth backed up from the two men in embarrassment, burying her hands in the pockets of her coat as she mindlessly kicked at the snow. He couldn't help his curiosity, remembering what they had discussed the night before, ". "He's coming back, ya' know," Chandler joked, lightly squeezing her arm in a form of comfort. She had to force a small smile, her gaze dropping to the pavement before nuzzling into Chandler's side. He grabbed the man's attention, the two of them walking back to the curb to join the woman staring off down the street.īeth sighed, feeling Chandler sling his arm around her shoulders as Ross gently ruffled her hair. The six of them waited at the edge of the sidewalk, waving as the taxicab disappeared down the street and left for the airport.īeth couldn't take her eyes off of the vehicle as it drove away, hearing the others' footsteps grow faint as they made their way back into the building.Ĭhandler was the first to notice her lack of movement, allowing the others to return inside as he lightly nudged Ross with his elbow. He hurriedly kissed her cheek, closing the trunk of the taxi before moving to open the door to the back seat. ![]() " Right," Joey rushed, quickly turning back to the woman before reaching out to hold her face in his palms. He turned to see them still waiting at the curb, his friends motioning towards the very impatient cab driver. Joey couldn't help his slight surprise, not exactly knowing what she meant by the comment as he heard the group trying to get his attention from behind. She tucked her hair behind her ears in distraction, quietly dismissing his words, "It's the least I can do." " For everything."īeth's smile was subtle, a light sigh slipping her lips as she reluctantly pulled away from his embrace. He wanted to take a picture, admiring the light snowfall that had left delicate sprinkles in her hair, "Thank you," He repeated. "No, Seriously," Joey felt as though he couldn't stress this enough, hesitantly leaning back to catch her gaze. She instinctively hugged him close, taking in his comfort as she hid her face in his coat, "Don't mention it." Joey securely wrapped an arm around her waist, flicking up her hood to keep her warm before brushing away the stray hairs that fell in front of her eyes. "Thanks, Beth," He pulled the woman into his chest as a harsh, winter breeze crashed into them, noticing how red her cheeks had gotten from the cold as he paused. Joey hated that he was going to be away from his friends for most of the holidays, but there was no way he'd go a night in his hotel without phoning home- Elizabeth didn't let him pack his bags until he promised to do so. It was finally time for the man to leave for his big audition, the group having said their last ' goodbye's the night before. "I'm sorry I ever doubted you," Joey couldn't help but chuckle at her behaviour, lightly patting her back before he took her hands into his own. "I called every costume shop in the city and not one of them had one."īeth finally swung the luggage with all of her strength, excited to see it land in the trunk in front of them with a ' thud', "See!" She beamed. He silently offered to take it off her hands, watching her closely as she persistently shook her head, "Nope," She ignored his suggestion. ![]() "Did you end up finding that Santa suit you were stressing about?" Joey threw his belongings into the trunk of the cab, laughing at the woman beside him as she struggled to lift his duffel bag past her hips.
